This book encompasses body contouring procedures for patients of various body types. The addition of Dr. Nahas as an editor reflects the significant contributions to the art of body contouring from Brazil and other South American countries, and the book contains the insight of some of the true innovators from this part of the world. Chapters are organized in a consistent format and the book is beautifully illustrated with over 1000 illustrations. Numerous operative videos are included, documenting the procedures in the book.

The genesis of this book came about during a body contouring symposium that we both attended in Chicago a few years ago. The second edition of A1 Alyls previous body contouring book, entitled Body Contouring After Massive Weight Loss, was being organized at the time, and we thought that increasing the scope of the new edition to include all of body contouring surgery would be an excellent idea, especially because we come from different schools of plastic surgery: American and Brazilian.

In the process of organizing a now much more ambitious project, we realized that although the two volumes are certainly related titles, they should stand on their own. T us, we began to build this new title in parallel to the revision of Body Contouring After Massive Weight Loss. We look forward to seeing the sister titles together, when the second edition of Body Contouring After Massive Weight Loss publishes in the coming months. It has been more than 10 years since the first edition was published, and the authors in this volume will cover the entirety of the field and emphasize where their approaches have changed since the first edition was published as well as the new discoveries that they have made.
