Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Volume 99 Issue 1 to 4

Gastro Hep Advances is the latest peer-reviewed journal published by the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), joining other notable publications like Gastroenterology, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology (CGH), Cellular and Molecular Gastroenterology and Hepatology (CMGH), and Techniques and Innovations in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (TIGE). Gastro Hep Advances is an online-only, open access journal with a broad scope, focusing on basic, clinical, and translational research in gastroenterology and hepatology. The open access model provides authors with funding mandates a high-quality platform for their research.

In addition to full-length original research articles, the journal publishes comprehensive reviews, commentaries, and editorials. A primary objective is to publish papers cascaded from AGA’s other journals that represent outstanding science, thereby qualifying for publication in a journal associated with the AGA brand. Gastro Hep Advances also actively encourages the submission of manuscripts that were not originally submitted to other AGA journals. The journal prioritizes research that is technically, ethically, and scientifically sound, rather than focusing solely on novelty and subjective perceptions of significance.

Gastro Hep Advances is scheduled to be published eight times in 2023, with the number of issues expected to increase over time. Accepted articles will be promptly posted on the journal’s website’s “Articles in Press” page. Although it is a new journal and not yet indexed in PubMed Central, the intention is to work towards indexing in PubMed Central, allowing the deposit of all accepted articles, regardless of funding status. The journal’s website also accommodates multimedia files and supplemental data, including images, videos, and audio files. Gastro Hep Advances provides regular updates and commentary through social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
